Music Vocabulary Class

Monday 4:30-5:10 Right before rehearsal.  This is the same time as Glee Girls A class on Monday which is grades 2-4.

On Monday, March 31st, we are offering a FREE class.  It is not required but available for all Glee Girls Plus and Glee Team.  We will review the following vocabulary and skills:

Learning CDs

We have heard from you two things:

1. Your girls absolutely love being here at Glee Music Academy and can't wait to attend their next rehearsal. 

2. Some of the girls in Glee Team and Glee Girls Plus feel intimidated and a little overwhelmed.  The great news is that we have spent hours making CDs to help you learn your part.  Just listen while you do your homework or while you take a shower.  We will teach your daughter how to read music but it won't be overnight, but I think you will be amazed at how fast it will be.  If your daughter didn't attend last week, you'll want to make sure your daughter or yourself drops by to get a CD on Monday between 5:30-7:30 or during their regular class on Monday to get one.

Glee Girls A and B

We have decided to make a younger Glee Girls-A and older Glee Girls-B class.

Glee Girls A: Monday
This Monday at 4:30-5:20pm will be the first Glee Girls -A Class for 2nd to 4th graders.


Glee Girls B: Thursday
Our vision is to have Glee Girls B Class for 4th to 8th graders on Thursday 4:30-5:20pm.  Right now there is no one signed up for that class, but we think in time that will be a large class.

Dress Orders

Glee Team and Glee Girls (new as of Monday)

Monday's new students:  We ordered dresses on Tuesday morning and everything seemed to go well.

Glee Team and Glee Girls (new as of Thursday)

Thursday's new students:  We went to order the dresses and the company had a photo shoot so they were closed.  We will be confirming with the company on Monday that everything looks good on the order. 

Pre-Glee and Glee Girls (new as of Thursday)

Thursday's new students.  The dress we had planned to buy for the young one's was not available in small enough sizes.  We found another dress that is even prettier if that is possible.  It has a huge bow and has sparkles.  We will keep you posted with a picture in next week's blog. 

New Students (this coming Monday)

This coming Monday, March 31st new students, we plan to order your dress as soon as we get your measurements.  We think it might still arrive in time if we can get your measurements Monday. If you aren't coming to class on Monday, we hope you can drop by for measurements between 4:30-5:30 on Monday.  Please let me know your timing so we can plan. 

Billing

We will billing all the dresses on the credit or debit card provided this next week. 

No Rehearsal this Saturday

Just a reminder to our new Glee Team and Glee Girl members there is no rehearsal this Saturday.  You can always check the calendar to be sure but usually we have rehearsals the 2nd and 4th Saturdays from 9-11am.

Here are the final dress prices with shipping and taxes. 

Regular dress: $128.48

X-Large dress: $138.48

Youth Dress: $114.48

As promised we will be running billing on April 1st with the credit card on file.  We just floated the money for now. 

Saturday, April 12th Are you in town?

As you probably heard we have a lot of music to learn in time for Relay for Life.  6 songs to be exact.  We do not have rehearsals the week of Saddleback Spring Break which starts on Monday April 14th.

Karstin and I are in town on Saturday, April 12th.  I think it would help us so much if we could have a rehearsal.  Let us know if you are in town that Saturday. 

May 24th Glee Concert 7pm

It looks like everyone should be here that night.  Please put that on the calendar for Glee Concert.  We will be wearing our dresses for this concert also.

Dress for 2014

We would like to have the dresses in time for Relay for Life, the May Concert and the Orange County Fair (assuming we make it).

Finding a dress that works for all is very challenging.  We are so excited this dress fits ALL of these requirements and is beautiful.

3. Available in girls and adult sizes.

The dress is $119 before taxes.  I'm thinking we will be taking measurements and having them all shipped to Glee so you don't have to worry about ordering or paying for the shipping. 

We will be paying for the dresses now so you won't have to worry about the charge until April. We thought this would help since we just completed paying for the clothes and shoes for the video. 

We took measurements on Thursday.  We will be measuring bust, waist, hip. 

This dress will take you through all of 2014 and maybe even beyond.

Relay for Life May 3rd: 8 PM Call Time

Relay for Life has asked us to sing 30 minutes of music.  We will plan on mostly choral music and we have auditions for solos to fill the rest of the time.

All solos will need to be inspirational and positive as this is for cancer event.  We won't have very many solos but anyone can audition.  Please find lyrics and approve before you prepare anything for auditions.

We will be posting details on the dresses for 2014 soon.  We just have to find a dress for Ally. :)  Youth sizes are complicated.

Relay for Life Performance May 3

Glee Team has been asked to perform at Relay for Life in RSM.  It will be a night event but we are waiting to hear on our time slot.  We will definitely be singing Count on Me. We will probably be singing Down in the River to Pray and I Want To See You Again.

I'm really excited about the opportunity.  Please post on the calendar.

Great Day Filming

Karstin and I wanted to thank you for your great attitude during the whole filming process.  You all were very grown-up and did great work.  We think it will be a beautiful music video.  We hope to teach you new music on Monday so prepare for a fun productive rehearsal.

We hope to have stills to share with everyone soon.  The gentleman that did our filming takes amazing pictures.

Saturday: Rumour Has It Video Shoot

This Saturday is the shoot!

We need the girls to be there at 7:30 AM SHARP for hair and make-up. Please come with a clean face and clean dry hair. Your outfit will be there for you. (Sarah, please remember to bring your black dress.)

We should be done filming by 1:00 PM. Please text Karen before you come. If things go really well, we might be done a little early.

Rumour Has It Costumes

We will be charging $72.40 to your credit card for Rumour Has It. This covers the clothing, socks, shoes, gloves, and make-up for the music video. We will run the credit cards today or tomorrow.
