We have a new company that will be making our dresses with the same fabric. The Pre-Glee, Glee Club and Glee Team will all wear this dress. It has a black trim on the side on the new dress. There is a picture on the link below.

We think most of our returning male singers will need a new shirt. The sleeves on the costume last show were way too long. We have some suggestions below. If everything fits you should only need to buy the shirt if you are returning. Be sure to try on your shoes. Feet grow a lot at this age.

Here's the details on solos for the show

Who can audition?

Any member of Glee Club or Glee Team.

What's the song?

It is called Dance Evolution. It has 15 short songs within the medley and all will be solos or small groups.

How do I audition?

1. Email us a YouTube link of you singing the solos you want or record it on your phone and email us a video for each solo you are interested in. The email might work since the solos are short.

2. If you can't do a video, create an audio on you phone and message it to us at 949-241-2667.

Can I choose more than one song in the medley?

Sure, as long as it is a solo for your group. The yellow songs are for Glee Club and the brown songs are for Glee Team.

What are the rehearsal requirements?

You'll have to be willing to stay late at the combined rehearsal and the dress rehearsal.

How do I learn the song?

We can help. Here is the list of songs in the medley with starting times for each song. First decide which songs you want to sing for us and then start learning...

When is the deadline?
We would like to have all recordings by Friday, December 4th. If you can turn it in before that, even better.

How do I increase my chances?

1. Send a video so we can see you perform and take it the top with enthusiasm. If you don't feel a little funny, you probably aren't smiling enough or have enough energy.
2. Learn the song with the teaching track but perform with the minus track that does not include the singer.
3. Memorize the words. It is short - you can do it!
4. Turn it in before the deadline.
5. Look right at the camera and have fun!

That seems a little far, doesn't it?

Actually you can get there in about 30 minutes if you take Santiago Canyon or you can come to Glee and take the bus to rehearsal. Yes you heard that right, we are providing a chartered bus to take students to the final dress rehearsal.

Optional 2-way bus ticket for rehearsal

We will be providing a school bus option that will be chartering students from Glee to Yorba Linda and back to Glee for Thursday dress rehearsal. There will be no bus for the show.


Pre-Glee Bus leaving at 3:30 from Glee in Lake Forest. Pre-Glee returning to Glee about 6:15pm. We are encouraging as many Pre-Glee parents to join us as possible. We have a lot of little one's for this show. Only $20 for the students and $5 for a parent ticket. We are reserving 10 Pre-Glee parent seats on the bus.

Student Voice Evaluation

Ashlee Frost singing for the judges. 

On Saturday, Emily Souders, Ashlee Frost, Renee Gentry, Gabbi Hoopes and Ashlyn Arias all participated in the student evaluation at the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) this last Saturday at Orange Coast College. If you're a voice student, we hope to see you participate next year. Hal Leonard is the next event we are preparing for after the Christmas recital.

Natalie Olgin gets $45!  

The Olgin family gets a $45 next month for Glee. Thank you to Natalie and Jillian Olgin who told their friend about piano lessons at Glee. And Jillian and Dilara need to remind us to give them their free frozen yogurt gift cards.

Christmas Recital

Saturday, December 19th at noon is the Christmas Voice Recital.
All the students wanted to get together and sing Christmas songs and do a potluck. Just bring your favorite hors d'oeuvre to serve. It will be short and sweet. Not a student? Just bring something homemade to share and you're invited!

Thursday is Costume Day

The older kids wanted to dress up for Thursday class so we thought we would open it up to Pre-Glee and Glee Club.

Music Video Shoot - save date

He has agreed join Glee and to teach on Wednesdays in our Piano Plus Program which includes the option to do Certificate of Merit. OC Fair - here we come!

Costumes

Wear your Glee t-shirt with longer shorts. No booty shorts please. Wear closed toe shoes for rehearsal and fair. Tennis shoes are ideal.

Hair

Girls please have your hair out of your eyes. Short bangs are fine but we want to see your eyes even when you dance.

What to Bring

Water bottle and a word sheet if you came to summer camp this week. Bring your child's ticket if you already have it. If you don't have it yet, pick up under your name at gate 4 1/2 at 10am. Bring quiet entertainment. You can bring electronics but there is no way for us to keep them safe. We will only be watching over students, not phones or tablets.

Where to Meet

Meet at the Plaza Pacifica Stage at 10:15am. Please plan to leave the Lake Forest area around 9:00am to give time to park and walk over. Parents are welcome to drop off or watch the rehearsal. You should be parking at around 9:45-10:00am Please enter through Gate 4 1/2 and someone will be there to guide you. You will need to know the stage name and have your student's ticket.

What To Do Before

Don't wait in line for adult tickets! Buy your ticket online before you arrive. The show starts at 12:15pm. If you are in the fair you don't have to pay to watch the show. We are at a different stage this year. Please find Plaza Pacific Stage on the attached map.

Carpooling

If people want to carpool from Glee that is an option. Meet at 9:00am at Glee if you want to coordinate with other parents. We will be going earlier but that might be a good way to meet other parents. I know there are two parents that are meeting at Glee tomorrow morning so there should be room to share.

Parking is cash only $10. I would park in C, D, E, or F. ...... You will be entering gate 4 1/2. It is quite a ways to walk from the gate to the stage.

Glee Team Camp

It is this coming Monday! 9:00am-1:00pm

1. We are going to be learning a fun simple dance number to Shut Up and Dance with Me for the Fair. Come with tennis shoes or dance shoes. No flip flops.

2. We are also going to learn "I Lived" for the Fair as well as some othe fun songs. We will have CDs ready for you.

3. Be sure to bring a good lunch and a water bottle. Please no soda.

4. You'll make lots of new friends. We have lots of new faces so it will be great fun!

5. Many of you are new to Glee. Be sure to print the release and sign before you come.

Parade day

Time: 9:30am meeting time. Parade starts at 10am.

What to bring
1. Small bag to carry your water bottle. Without a bag it will be hard for your student to keep track of their bottle with so many students.

2. Sunglasses - hope that Glee Team can wear their colored one's from music video.

Costume: Glee t-shirt, shorts and tennis shoes. No flipfops. If you need another t-shirt we might have an extra for you. They are $13. Please contact us soon if you need one.

If your daughter it concerned about her dress being itchy, you can wear a NUDE half-tee. See their website at http://www.halftee.com. They have adult and girl sizes. Most girls are worried about under their arms being itchy so bras don't do the trick. Please make sure that all bras are white or nude. No RAZOR BACKS or colored bras. This seems to be a concern with the younger girls.

We need Chaperones!

Become a chaperone! We'll even give you a free ticket for the show if you can help us at the show. If there are two of you, we might even be able to have you sit together if that is an issue. You can sit with us during the rehearsal and/or the show.

We Found Glee Jackets!

We had a hard time finding Glee Jackets for all sizes. Good news - we have the vendor that carries children and adult sizes. The jackets are about $55 but we are only asking that you pay $50. Please bring a check to the rehearsal and give to Karen or bring the check this week in an envelope to your next Glee class.

I will be sending another email tomorrow with the details on how to choose pink or black and what name you want on the front. Here are the names of those that will earn the privilege of buying a Glee jacket (formally called pink jackets).

How to Choose Your Seat: The tickets are on sale and selling fast. It is hard to tell but you can you choose your own seat. When you are on the front page just randomly make a choice and then you can see the color coded text and picture and choose where you want to sit. Then once you know you can go back to the first page and make an intelligent discussion.

Mail Tickets: If you have them go through the mail check to be sure they will arrive in time. Small traditional tickets are great to use as well as print at home. There are NO Will Call tickets.
